Vancouver Executive Coach

Electra Health Floor's executive coaching program can help you improve your executive and leadership skills and performance.

The difference between an Executive Coach and a Business Coach

Just as a business may focus on a specific niche, some coaches also differentiate and specialize. An executive coach typically works specifically with senior executives in an organization. The work often focuses on executive leadership coaching but can also focus on coaching for change or coaching on specific functional areas where one might need, or want, to develop additional strengths.

Business coaching is focused on the overall business and how to build and grow a successful business. Executive coaching is focused on the senior executive or the executive team and on how to build new skills, strengthen existing skills and minimize weaknesses (or eliminate them).

Executive Coaching Process: How Much Time Does It Take?

Coaching is not effective as a one-time event because coaching is a process. A minimum of three months is usually required; starting with fairly intensive meetings, discussions, and planning for the first few weeks and then moving onto regular weekly meetings with action plans to be completed, priorities to be identified, and milestones to be reached.

Most often, the relationship that you build with your Executive Coach is strong and you will want to continue to meet regularly (for example, monthly) after your first goals are met. Executive training and coaching is a continuous improvement process: to be the best executive for your organization (whether you own it or manage a department or function) needs ongoing support and growth.
