Tanya Bayda, RMT

RMT VancouverTanya’s interest in massage therapy and the health care began from a young age. Throughout childhood and university she studied many forms of dance and competed extensively in track & field. During those years, she witnessed first hand the benefits of massage therapy on her own body.

After completing three years at University of Saskatchewan with a major in Anatomy/Physiology and with a peaked interest in massage, she traveled to San Diego California to complete a holistic massage program at the International Professional School of Bodywork. An Institute of Psycho-Structural Balancing, the program integrated the physical, emotional, and intellectual aspects of bodywork by focusing on the movement, structure and form of Yoga and Tai Chi. It was there that Tanya found her calling.

With a desire to develop a more scientific foundation for her holistic and formatively intuitive massage practice, she moved to Victoria where she graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy and became a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) in 2006. Tanya is currently working towards her Bachelors in Health Science.

After recently completing the Introductory and Intermediate level courses in Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® (SDTT), Tanya is enrolled in an ongoing Mentorship Program to complete her Advance Level in this unique technique, which she uses primarily in her massage therapy practice.

SYSTEMIC DEEP TISSUE THERAPY® (SDTT) is a highly effective system of manual therapy originated and developed by Armand Ayaltin DNM, RHP, RMT over a period of twenty-five years and continues to progress. The goal of SDTT® is to provide a highly effective treatment for acute, sub-acute, and chronically contracted muscles that may be fibrotic and painful and to restore the muscle tissue to an optimal level of health and function. SDTT® can be used to treat ALL musculoskeletal dysfunctions. The approach to assessing and treating the body is based on the entire body’s involvement in the supporting systems. Consequently, longer lasting relief and improvements become expected probabilities.

Tanya may also incorporate into her treatments:
 Myofascial Release
 Muscle Energy Technique
 Trigger Point Release
 Swedish Massage Techniques
 Joint Mobilization
 Therapeutic Exercises and Yoga

(Systemic Deep Tissue Therapy® is the registered trademark and the intellectual property of Armand Ayaltin, DNM, RHP, RMT).
