Whether you are seeking treatment for an acute injury, chronic tension, or just want to ensure that your spine is aligned and functioning at its best, our Chiropractors are here to assist you.
Chiropractic Activator Adjustment
Some people have never had their spine evaluated and treated by a chiropractor, often because they are nervous or because they don’t want to be “twisted” and don’t want to hear the “popping/cracking” sound. Our chiropractors offer Activator Adjustments, using a small handheld instrument that moves the joints of the spine to restore proper alignment and motion. This instrument delivers a quick impulse to the spine in the location that needs to be adjusted, while the patient is laying in a neutral position. The patient is not moved at all during the adjustment, and there isn’t any “popping” or “cracking” sounds that are sometimes associated with manual adjustments. This is a gentle way to treat the spine, and patients find this treatment comfortable and effective.

Combining spinal adjustments with soft tissue therapies, as muscle tension can affect the bones and joints much in the same way that the bones and joints can affect the muscle tension, it is important to address any spinal misalignment first, as this sets a stable foundation for all of the soft tissues that attach to the spine. If the muscles are attached to a frame that is incorrect, any therapies applied to the muscles will only provide short term relief since the muscles will be moving and pulling on a frame that is not in the correct position and therefore the movement patterns of the muscles will be incorrect as well. Aligning the frame is the first step, and then soft tissue therapies can more effectively address muscle tension.
Graston Technique available as part of Chiropractic treatment
Graston Technique is an instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) technique. This type of treatment is used to address and eliminate restrictions in the muscles caused by myofascial adhesions (fibers of scar tissue that can form between the layers of muscle and fascia). These myofascial adhesions can form in response to injury, repetitive movements, or postural stress. By eliminating these adhesions, Graston is able to restore range of motion, improve movement patterns, and decrease tension in the muscles.
Your visit to our Chiropractic doctors may include spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, or both, depending on your needs. You will not be charged extra if more than one Chiropractic therapy is used during your treatment visit. Our chiropractor can work in conjunction with your other healthcare providers, such as your family doctor, massage therapist, or physiotherapist.
